It was summer and my first trip to Bandhavgarh.
“Bamera” B2, a large powerful tiger, one of the undisputed kings of a large part of Bandhavgarh’s Tala Zone, is now an old ageing male, surviving his last part of life maybe, limping for last 1-2 years for a wound in his front paw, unable to hunt small faster animals, survives on cattle kills in the villages nearby.
There’s the big old Bamera jumping the wire fence. We waited in anticipation for him to jump and he did. Even thought he has an injured front paw, he quietly looked up, gauged the height and jumped off smoothly, crossed the road and quietly limped off into the tall grasses. Thats the attitude of tigers that makes you love them. Injured but the struggle goes on. My first time seeing a tiger jump. Happy Moment..
The stare from the famous Bamera from Bandhavgarh.
